Alan Doyle And The Beautiful Gypsies Fall Tour 2016…The show must go on!

Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Gypsies have just finished the fall tour of Canada and the United States. The tour included a charity event in Edmonton, Alberta and several concerts at a range of venues in a number of towns throughout Canada and the northern states of the United States including Mississauga, Ithaca, Wilkes-Barre, Vienna and Annapolis. The fans travelled from all over Canada, the United States and from overseas to sing and dance and have a great time with Alan and the Gypsies.

“His (Alan Doyle) presence is reminiscent of the famous “Energizer Bunny” – an artist who excludes an unbelievable energy that never slows down, never misses a beat and is fed constantly by the raucous live crowds that flow in droves to the shows.”

This is a wonderful quote from a review of the concert by the Great Dark Wonder music webpage on Alan Doyle’s performance in Mississauga. The review was circulated on social media by Alan Doyle and the venue.

The charity event and first concert in Mississauga, Ontario went off without a hitch. The band and their bus loaded up with their equipment travelled to the Canadian/US border as they have done hundreds of times before where they ran into a hitch and were unable to cross. Alan and the band looked as though they were not going to make the concert in Ithaca in New York later that night.

Alan kept the fans in touch about what was happening through his official Twitter account and posted a video on his official Facebook page. Eventually Alan, Cory and Kendel, with help from friends of friends, borrowed equipment and a case full of humour and determination that they were not going to disappoint their fans arrived at the venue and started on time.

The whole concert was bootlegged by a fan and distributed via the Great Big Sea Online Kitchen Party Facebook page. While I don’t normally watch bootlegs recorded in this way I did watch a couple of these ones out of curiosity. Despite the fact the trio did not have a sound check and were using borrowed equipment, I was so impressed with the way they delivered their music with love and humour to their fans. The bootlegs I watched were of some old and new music and fan favourites from Alan Doyle who took requests from the stage. There was also some new and old music from a solo Cory Tetford.

This concert with the Alan Doyle trio from these bootlegs in my opinion looked and sounded totally awesome. I have circulated bootlegs on my Google + page and I have provided links below for those visiting this post in the future. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

After the concert Alan wrote on his official Twitter account Alan Doyle @alanthomsdoyle about the problems at the border and thanked the audience for coming.

"1/3 Well. Today was not the day I expected. But it was a day I will remember. And age old lesson in Show Biz. The Show Must Go On. @4 October, 2016

2/3 Thanks to all at The Dock in Ithaca for dancing with @corytetford @kendelcarson and I. Rented Gear, no sound but still we danced. 24 October, 2016

3/3 We shall return w all the BGs who r gutted to have missed it. they came to play & we’ll have to give them another chance to do just that. 24 October, 2016"

Alan further explained what happened at the Canadian/US border and throughout the day on a post from the road on his official webpage. That post can be accessed on his official webpage alandoyle.ca. The following day the bus carrying the other members of Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Gypsies and their equipment arrived and continued on as normal. They did not, nor never disappoint their fans. From Alan Doyle’s official Twitter account.

"Alan Doyle @alanthomasdoyle Rolling back to border and to YYZ to catch flights home. Thanks for the great tour everyone. 28 October, 2016."

As usual Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Gypsies shared some amazing photographs taken along the way on their official social media accounts with the fans. I have included a copy of a couple of my favourites here. I have also included a photograph shared on Twitter taken at the Gold Medal Plate charity event in Edmonton of the Alan, Cory and Kendel.

The photographs are from the official Twitter and Instagram accounts of Alan Doyle, Cory Tetford, Kendel Carson and Shehab Illyas. As always no copyright infringement intended.
