Bob Hallett And A Visit To Gander…

Recently Bob Hallett and Canadian news outlets shared great news stories, photographs and a couple of short videos about two magic nights of the music production ‘Come From Away’ in Gander, Newfoundland where the story takes place.

As Great Big Sea fans know Bob worked on the music for the production and has been sharing information about the event on his official social media sites including Twitter and Facebook.

The article describes how the performance of the music production in Gander is to thank the community and surrounding towns of Appleton, Gambo, Glenwood, Lewisporte and Norris Arm for opening up their homes and hearts to 38 planes with 6579 passengers and crew when they were diverted to Newfoundland when air space was closed following the 9/11 terror attacks in New York city. The money raised from the event would go to fund local charities. ‘Come From Away’ has received some great reviews as it has toured San Diego, Seattle and Washington in the United States before heading to Toronto and Broadway.

Another article was also circulated after the performance was from CBC News Newfoundland and Labrador titled “Come From Away rocks two shows in Newfoundland ahead of Toronto, Broadway” by Chris Ensign and published on 30 October, 2016. The article describes the performances, the creation of the story and the reaction of some Newfoundlanders to musical performance. There was a great little video attached to the article. Bob flew to Gander for the performances and posted a gorgeous selfie on his official Twitter account. He also circulated a fabulous picture of the audience on one of the nights. I have put a copy here for those interested. No copyright infringement intended.
