Catching Up With Shehab Illyas... Musician, photographer, music video and documentary maker (26/365).

One of the reasons I love writing my blog is that I am always getting introduced to not only new and exciting artists and musicians but also some amazingly talented and creative people. This time the person is Shehab Illyas.

As fans of Alan Doyle and The Beautiful, Beautiful band know band member Shehab Illyas as the quiet and talented, hat wearing bass player up the back in the right hand corner.

Off stage Shehab is known as one talented photographer, music video maker and documentary maker recording the daily lives of some of our favourite artists and musicians on the road.

Shehab made the video to the song for Alan Doyle's 'My Day' from the 'So Let's Go' album and a short documentary for the 'A Week At The Warehouse' album. He took the gorgeous photograph for the cover of 'A Week At The Warehouse Album' and for posters advertising their various tours.

Shehab has been busy in his down time recently making music videos and short documentaries for other Newfoundland musicians including Cory Tetford, The Fortunate Ones and Ennis Sisters and the Canadian music group The Barenaked Ladies.

Shehab took totally gorgeous photographs for his fellow Beautiful, Beautiful Band member Cory Tetford's album 'In The Morning'. He also made a music video for the song 'In The Morning' with Cory Tetford and Kendel Carson. I have circulated a copy of music video from Cory Tetford's official YouTube site.

Shehab directed and filmed a gorgeous music video, for The Fortunate Ones for their song called 'Hold Fast' and filmed in Newfoundland. I have circulated a copy of this music video from their official YouTube site.

Shehab also filmed another beautiful music video for the Ennis Sisters for their song 'Your Light'. The song was written by Maureen Ennis and Perry Chafe and produced by Alan Doyle. I have circulated a copy of the music video from their official YouTube on my Google + page. The music video was filmed at the Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site in Newfoundland.

Shehab made a mini-documentary with the Canadian group the Barenaked Ladies Tour called 'Not A Retrospective' recorded on the their 'Fake Nudes' tour of Canada...I love the quote 'in a world where people tune in for real nudes and get really naked, one band went out on tour fully clothed to promote their record 'Fake Nudes'...'

The Barenaked Ladies talk about their early touring life, going to America, doing live shows and their new record 'Fake Nudes'. I really liked their stories about how they spend their time off the road on the tour. Beautifully filmed. I have circulated a copy of the mini-documentary on my Google + page.

For a complete list of Shehab's work visit his official webpage and social media sites.

I have included a copy of a totally drop dead gorgeous Alan Doyle and The Beautiful, Beautiful Band group photograph being taken by Shehab Illyas. The photograph was used on a number of tour posters. No copyright infringement intended.
